Explore the platform

Bring content in quickly and keep it organized.

Media Library & File Management

A visual, customer-private media workspace for importing files, preserving folders, checking compatibility, and maintaining content safely.

Drag-and-drop files and folders

CMS

Drop individual JPG, PNG, or MP4 files onto the upload area, or drop a complete local folder to recreate its nested folders and files under the current CMS folder. Files upload one at a time so a large import does not overwhelm a shared host.

Windows-style file manager

CMS

Browse with a collapsible folder tree, breadcrumbs, folder contents, remembered expanded folders, content storage usage, folder creation, renaming, and drag-to-folder moves. Moving a file keeps its media ID and playlist relationships.

Resizing and media normalization

CMS · LG

Images are physically corrected for EXIF rotation. Videos are normalized for LG playback with H.264 Main, AAC audio, fast-start, stable timestamps, compatible frame rate, and a size/bitrate profile that preserves the real aspect ratio instead of adding unwanted black bars.

Validation and replacement

CMS

The CMS validates extensions and MIME types, generates safe filenames, records dimensions, orientation, file size, and SHA-256, reports individual upload failures while continuing the rest of a batch, and replaces same-name files in the same folder without breaking playlist references.

Preview and lifecycle safeguards

CMS

Preview images and videos, see where media is used, edit records in a focused modal, and prevent removal while content is still used by a playlist. Media status reflects whether it is actually deployed.

One playlist can serve many audiences.

Keywords, Locations & Targeting

Target content by customer-defined values without building a separate playlist for every language, market, department, or location.

Customer-defined categories

CMS

Create categories such as Language, Market, Department, or Region, then define the allowed values and assign one value per category to each player.

Play where / Don't play where / Always play where

CMS · LG · Apple TV

Require matching values, exclude a market even when another rule matches, or force a file into a matching audience. Several values in one category can act as OR; different categories act as AND.

Safe default behavior

CMS · LG · Apple TV

Media with no targeting rules plays everywhere the playlist is delivered. All filtering happens server-side, including protected media downloads, so players only receive eligible content.

Bulk keyword administration

CMS

Export categories and values to CSV, add or update safely, or preview a full replacement before deletions. ID-based renaming keeps existing player and media assignments connected.

Automatic refresh after targeting changes

CMS · Players

Changing a player or media rule republishes affected content and queues a refresh for impacted displays. ETags change even when the numeric playlist version does not.

Design the experience, then release it safely.

Playlists, Publishing & Playback Flow

Build drafts visually, control the order and timing, and publish only when the complete experience is ready.

Drag media into a playlist

CMS

Open a playlist and drag files from the media folder tree onto the ordered list. Drag handles reorder items; remove items with one action; thumbnails and real asset shapes remain visible.

Draft and publish workflow

CMS · LG · Apple TV

Make multiple edits while displays continue playing the last published snapshot. Publish to TVs only after the playlist or Canvas is ready; every published change receives a readable revision.

Timing and special items

CMS · LG · Apple TV

Set image durations, use indefinite holds, let videos play through their natural end, add pauses, HDMI inputs, shared-playlist inserts, Button Points, and Go To Points.

Transition and gapless playback

LG

LG image transitions can fade or slide through a chosen transition color. LG video-only Canvas zones use native gapless playback, while mixed image/video zones use reliable sequential playback.

Canvas multi-zone layouts

CMS · LG · Apple TV

Create resizable windows with exact X/Y/width/height, aspect lock, layer order, fit mode, opacity, transparent overlays, per-zone playlists, audio source, and representative previews.

Automate what plays without babysitting screens.

Schedules, Expiring Content & Fallbacks

Use time windows and priorities to make the right content appear, disappear, and recover gracefully.

Time-aware schedules

CMS · LG · Apple TV

Set start/end dates, weekdays, daily start/end times, IANA timezones, and priorities. The highest-priority active schedule wins; outside the window, the display returns to its default playlist.

Expiring and scheduled media

CMS · LG · Apple TV

Set Available from and Available until dates and times on individual media. The CMS removes unavailable items from delivered playlists and Canvas zones, then brings them back automatically when the window opens.

Display-local time handling

LG

LG uses its effective timezone, preferring the assigned settings group, then the timezone reported by the display, then the CMS clock. This keeps a 4:00 PM Eastern cutoff from firing at the wrong local time.

Orientation-aware defaults

CMS · LG · Apple TV

Choose a landscape default playlist and a portrait default playlist. If targeted content becomes empty, a portrait display uses the portrait default and other displays use the landscape default.

Offline fallback behavior

LG · Apple TV

LG rechecks when an expiring item drops out, and Apple TV keeps the last verified local playlist. If nothing is playable, the player shows a truthful waiting state instead of a misleading blank screen.

Know every screen and act on it.

Player Management & Fleet Operations

Activate, assign, inspect, operate, and troubleshoot players while preserving customer and location boundaries.

Activation and assignment

CMS · LG · Apple TV

Approve a new Apple TV or LG display with a one-time activation code, assign its customer, location, content, and settings, and reset or retire it without losing customer ownership controls.

Remote commands

CMS · LG · Apple TV

Refresh content, restart playback, capture a screenshot, show or hide diagnostics, clear supported caches, reset a screen, reboot compatible LG displays, and fan commands out to customer player groups.

Device details

CMS

See serial number, model, software and platform versions, firmware, IP/network data, current content, playlist revision, heartbeat, playback state, and recent online time.

Customer and location isolation

Security · CMS

Each customer sees only its own players and content. Location-scoped users see only the locations and displays granted to them; firmware monitor lists follow the selected customer.

Live previews and diagnostics

CMS · LG · Apple TV

View protected screen previews, enlarge them, request fresh snapshots, inspect event logs, and use the player diagnostics overlay without stopping healthy playback.

Deep control for commercial LG displays.

LG webOS Signage

A hosted LG player combines reliable playback with display settings, remote actions, telemetry, and controlled firmware administration.

Playback and recovery

LG

Play images, normalized MP4, HDMI input, Canvas zones, schedules, keyword targeting, button points, and gapless video. Persistent local storage and fallback engines keep content moving through network or decoder problems.

Settings Groups

LG

Reuse settings across displays: volume, mute, Wi-Fi, USB lock, blocked ports, timezone, daily reboot, on/off timers, portrait mode, installer PIN, and other supported LG controls. Settings apply on check-in, version change, or configured boot reapply.

Button Press

LG

Name and enable remote buttons 1–9, place Button Point and Go To markers in playlists, and jump to destinations with a color-curtain transition instead of a black flash.

Telemetry and diagnostics

LG

Report CPU, temperature, memory, disk, power history, network links, Wi-Fi SSID, HDMI signal inventory, playback engine, event log, firmware, and screen-preview state at configured intervals.

Firmware management

LG · Super admin

Register signed EPK packages, upload large files in resumable 8 MB chunks or by SFTP, target an exact regional model, arm one display, watch download/install progress, and confirm the installed version after reboot.

Hardware caution

LG limitation

Firmware apply has not been proven on every physical panel and can reboot or brick a display. Exact model matching, signed LG packages, and a one-display test are required before fleet rollout.

Native playback with verified offline continuity.

Apple TV Player

A SwiftUI and AVFoundation player turns Apple TV into a resilient signage endpoint using the same secure CMS API.

Secure activation

Apple TV

The app displays an activation code, polls with a private token, receives a device credential after CMS approval, and stores it in Keychain rather than ordinary preferences or files.

Verified local cache

Apple TV

Download JPG, PNG, and MP4 locally, verify HTTPS status, type, byte count, and SHA-256, then atomically switch only after every required asset is ready. The old playlist remains safe until then.

Playback resilience

Apple TV

Play full-screen aspect-fit content in order, loop continuously, skip corrupt or stalled items, retry temporary failures with backoff, and continue cached playback through network outages.

Diagnostics and commands

Apple TV

Show player identity, app/tvOS versions, uptime, clock, network addresses, heartbeat, playlist, media, cache, memory, storage, thermal state, and current messages in a remote overlay.

Deployment note

Apple TV limitation

An ordinary tvOS app cannot guarantee launch at device boot. Supervised device management, App Lock, or the selected production deployment configuration is required for unattended installations.

Turn playback into evidence.

Monitoring, Proof of Play & Reports

Understand what played, where it played, how long it ran, and which devices need attention.

Fleet health

CMS · LG · Apple TV

See online, offline, pending, backgrounded, playback, stale screenshot, and attention states from adaptive heartbeats with randomized fleet jitter and bounded retry.

Proof of Play drill-down

CMS

Review total plays, completion rate, screen time, outcomes, top media, hourly patterns, and device online/playing performance. Drill media → player → individual events.

Retention and exports

CMS

Raw playback events remain available for 100 days; daily rollups remain for 13 months. Export media and device CSV files or create a branded browser print-to-PDF report.

Activity and security reports

CMS

Review changes, sign-ins, user administration, player actions, and security checks. Sensitive values such as passwords, Wi-Fi passwords, and installer PINs are never recorded.

Built for separated customer fleets.

Security, Customers & Access

The CMS treats customer isolation, authentication, player credentials, and operational safety as core product behavior.

Tenant isolation

Security

Normal users are locked to their customer. Super admins choose an active customer context. Server-side ownership checks protect every operational page, player API response, playlist, media download, report, and command.

Account protection

Security

Passwords use password_hash/password_verify, sessions use secure HttpOnly SameSite cookies, private session storage, strict session IDs, 24-hour absolute expiry, CSRF tokens, and throttling after repeated failed sign-ins.

Player credential protection

Security · Players

Activation and device tokens are random secrets stored as SHA-256 hashes by the CMS. Apple TV stores its credential in Keychain; player credentials are separate from browser user sessions.

Upload and web hardening

Security

Uploads use allow-lists, MIME checks, generated names, checksums, non-executable upload directories, prepared SQL, escaped output, security headers, HTTPS, and protected configuration outside the web root.

Access-code demos

Security

Prospect feature codes are customer-bound, hash-stored, limited to 30 days, revocable, usage-tracked, and read-only. They never grant CMS login access.

The CMS in your pocket.

iPhone App

A native SwiftUI/WebKit shell keeps the full server-authoritative CMS usable on an iPhone without creating a second permissions system.

Full management surface

iPhone

Reach Dashboard, Players, Activations, Media, Keywords, Playlists, Canvas, Schedules, Locations, Operations, Proof of Play, LG Settings, Activity Log, Security Report, Profile, and Help.

Phone-first workflows

iPhone

Use responsive cards, stacked forms, readable filters, landscape layouts, pull-to-refresh, back/forward gestures, sharing, external links, Photos picker, Files picker, and upload controls.

Secure convenience

iPhone

The normal CMS session remains authoritative. Optional Face ID-protected Keychain restoration fills the existing login form; passwords are not written to app preferences.

Dark mode and live website updates

iPhone

The app follows the CMS theme tokens and most server-rendered feature improvements appear without a new App Store build. New native navigation or compiled device behavior requires an app release.

Platform note: exact capabilities depend on the player model, operating system, installed player build, media format, and deployment configuration. Firmware updates and unattended Apple TV deployment should be tested on representative hardware before a broad rollout.
